Lily's Cottage

About Lily's Cottage

Lily's Cottage is a lovely stone-built cottage which benefits from a recently refurbished interior.

A travel cot can be provided on request. The newly refurbished bathroom is also upstairs and has a large walk-in shower. The cottage is centrally heated and double glazed so it is lovely and warm and there is little noise from the village.

The cottage is dog friendly - please view our dog policy here

Outside there is a small seating area and a lockable cycle store which also has a cycle stand, cycle pump and repair stand for our cycling guests to use.

We regret that because Lily's Cottage is an old property, and therefore has uneven floors and a fairly steep staircase, it is unsuitable for disabled guests.

Living Room

Lily's Cottage has a comfortable living room with a beautiful oak floor, comfortable seating, a fire and a new 43" SMART TV with Freesat channels plus a DVD player.  Colourful rugs and cosy throws make this a lovely room to snuggle up with a book when the weather is not so good.  There is a library of DVDs for you to watch during your stay along with some games and local interest books to keep you entertained.   There is good mobile reception in the area and free wifi, with excellent bandwidth, is provided for guests.

Kitchen Diner

Lily's Cottage  has a large, modern airy kitchen which is fully equipped with everything you might need for your stay.  There is an electric oven, hob and microwave, a large fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer for guests to use.  There is a dining table and four chairs for mealtimes and the table does extend should you need more space.  A high chair is available on request.

Master Bedroom

Lily's Cottage has a large master bedroom with a double bed, TV with Freesat channels  and plenty of storage.  A travel cot can be made available on request.

Bedroom 2

Lily's Cottage has a smaller back bedroom which has two 3 foot single beds.

Bathroom

Lily's Cottage has a light and modern bathroom with a large shower cubicle which has an electric power shower.

Cycle Store

Lily's Cottage was originally equipped with what is colloquially known in Weardale  as a "netty" (short for necessity!).  Whilst the cottage now has indoor facilities the netty now forms a useful lockable cycle store which has a cycle stand, cycle pump and repair stand for our cycling guests use.  Lots of our guests are using the cottage for a stay whilst traversing the C2C (Coast to Coast) cycle route and even take part in the Winking Sheep Challenge.

Outside Space...

Lily's Cottage has a small, quiet outside seating area for guests to use which is a real suntrap on sunny mornings - the ideal place for a relaxed holiday breakfast.

Our Dog Policy

Lily's Cottage is dog friendly and up to two dogs are welcome but we do ask that they are kept downstairs and please note that the outside space is not enclosed.
